I an attempt at making a few videos of my backyard and uploading them on YouTube. This will probably be my last attempt because of the shear length of time it took me to upload them. Anyway, just thought I would share them on here for anyone that may be interested in seeing them...

What an amazingly beautiful and brilliantly executed tropical paradise you have there in TN. Your groupings are very smart and the overall effect feels more like FL than zone 7a TN. Are all of your fan palms Euros and windmills? Also what are the beautiful flowering bananas in your video, and are they cold hardy? And are your blood camaflage bananas cold hary? (Forgfive me, I can't remember the latin name.) What is the striking elephant ear with the dark metallic color? Such a beautiful effect! Color me impressed!

Thanks for the kind words, Jeannie! My fan palms are windmills, minors, birminghams, brazorias, and lousianas. I do not have any euros out in the ground as of yet, but love them and wish I could grow them here. Tried twice, lost twice! The flowering bananas I believe you are referring to are a hybrid I have been trialing for someone that does the hybridization. It has been hardy for me so far and think it is a definite winner. The "blood camaflage" banana I think you are referring to is the Musa zebrinus and no, it is not hardy for me. I pot a couple pups up each fall for the next year. I am trialing a nice variegated banana similiar in looks to the M.zebrinus, that I got last year and it did overwinter for me, but we did have a fairly mild winter, so I will have to wait and see how it does with a harsher winter. And lastly, the dark metallic elephant ear you are wondering about is Colocasia 'Diamond Head', and it has been hardy for me the past two winters. Not as large overall as some of my other colocasias, but the color and sheen is impressive indeed, in my opinion! Again, thanks for the kind words... If you have a Facebook account, you are more than welcome to look me up! I have most my pictures on there... Have a great day!
