2009 Southeastern Citrus Expo Report



About 120 citrus enthusiasts attended the 2009 Southeastern Citrus Exposition on Saturday, November 21, 2009, hosted by Moore Farms Gardens, Lake City, South Carolina. And 17 of the South’s best citrus hobbyists entered their finest specimens in the fruit contest. Expert speakers included Stan McKenzie, Ryan Atwood and Sherry Aultman.

Citrus Seed Spitting Contest

The citrus seed spitting contest was won by none other than Bob McCartney of Woodlanders Nursery, Aiken, South Carolina.
The ultimate worst-ever seed spitter award goes to Kathy Denton of Pungo Palms Nursery, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The lovely Kathy managed to spit a citrus seed only a pitiful three feet!
