The Southeastern Palm Society is the southeastern United States (north-of-Florida) chapter of the International Palm Society. SPS members are devoted and enthusiastic growers of hardy palms and other subtropical plants. We enjoy sharing our experiences through our quarterly journal, Southeastern Palms, and at our quarterly meetings. Southeastern Palms typically has 20 pages and features the extensive use of color, with profiles of hardy palms and other subtropical plants, and many backyard reports that details the experiences and growing tips of SPS members. We occasionally publish other unique gardening guides, such as Hardy Citrus for the Southeast and Hardy Palms for the Southeast. Our meetings are held at some of the most interesting private and public gardens in the Southeast, and include the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with fellow enthusiasts. Meetings are held in various locations so that at least one per year is within driving distance of most members. Our winter meeting typically features an expert speaker and annual plant auction. And SPS meetings are renowned for their plant sales, when nursery owners and palms nuts alike sell and swap hardy palms and rare plants. Non-members are always welcome at SPS meetings.
